Fine Water Mist Fire Suppression

Was interested in anyone having first hand knowledge in the application of a fine water mist fire suppression (NFPA 750), namely to be used in a museum atmosphere. Any pros and cons would be helpful as the local museum is requesting if this would be a good application for them. Thanks
Gary

We've had 2 systems installed within the last year - both by Marioff but by 2 different contractors.  Both systems installed  in museum type facilities - Montpelier Visitor Center and Montpelier Mansion, Orange County, Va.
First system had problems with fittings & hoses during high pressure testing  and Marioff changed their specs regarding fittings, etc. to higher ratings. Final testing of system acceptable.  I believe because of the problems we encountered, the upgraded specs to their high pressure water mist system has resulted in a safer system and more training to the installers.  Second system installed went smoothly with no problems.  System has very low water demand so is ideal for situations with no public water available.  I am sure that we can arrange a site visit for you. Should you have any questions feel free to contact Bill or Bruce with Orange County by calling 540-672-4574.
