NFPA 58 section 6.3.1 calls for LPG tanks to be installed a minimum distance as measured to adjacent tanks, important buildings, groups of buildings or adjoining property line that can be built upon. SFPC Table 3804.3 calls for minimum separation distance between LP-Gas containers and buildings, PUBLIC WAYS, or lot lines of adjoining property that can be built upon. Notice the HUGE difference between NFPA 58 and SFPC Table 3804.3 is the use of PUBLIC WAYS as defined in SFPC 1002.1. How have other AHJs been interpreting the use of PUBLIC WAY? Do you require LPG tanks to be located a minimum of 10 feet from curb lines?
