We could really benefit from television and other campaigns for fire prevention. When the state used to use Smokey the Bear people were much more aware and careful with fire sources. I think we also had fewer forrest fires during that time too. Without constant reminders for prevention people forget and get lazy but using Smokey the Bear helped "etch" those memorable lines in our memories, therefore helping us help keep our forrest fire free. It also helped with teaching children about the dangers of fires and how it could affect them legally if they or an adult started a fire intentionally.
